Server was moody and didn't know the own menu.

Possibly the worst experience I've had in a long time. We waited 30mins to be seated even though we had a reservation and had to ask numerous times for our table. Unfortunately the table we were given was dirty and we had to request for it to be cleaned. On arrival the card machine was broken in the restaurant but card payments were still working in the bar. After finishing the meal the staff were really unhelpful and refused to allow us to pay with the working machines. Instead we were forced to send payment via bank transfer which we were happy to do, but they didn't want individual transactions. They were expecting one person to pay which would usually be fine but not appropriate for a hen do. After another 30 minutes of being ignored and the staff avoiding making eye contact they reluctantly allowed us to pay separately. They refused to give us receipts for our payments and insisted on us showing them the transaction which was very intimidating. In addition, senior management was extremely rude and spoke to our group as if we were an inconvenience. There are so many better places in Manchester it's really not worth visiting. The staff ruined our hen party and didn't care. Awful experience and the food is average!

Overall nice restaurant and food. The starters were the highlight for us, very flavourful, could've had a full meal on just starters. The mains were underwhelming relative to the starters. Still nice food but not at the level I expected for Scene. Maybe we just chose the wrong dishes... Will be back to try more of the food for sure.

The restaurant itself looks beautiful, plenty of areas where you can take decent pictures. The man that greeted us was lovely (I'm assuming he was the manager), very warm and welcoming. However, when we were seated, I realized the table was so sticky, to the point that once your plates and glasses were down, we were unable to slide them around when we wanted to move them. This wasn't pleasant at all. The food was what I was looking forward to the most, which was super overpriced and was really bland. Expected a lot from their food, was really disappointed. So, 2 stars for the deco and the man at the front of the house who greeted us, thank you.
