Melin is in Woodford rd Chigwell Essex I went with my hubby to celebrate our anniversary, it was a surprise for us by our children. This restaurant was amazing, the food and service were excellent, Well done! Very relaxing and romantic atmosphere really lovely. Food was adequately priced. Definitely 5 stars from me and we will definitely be recommending to our friends and family.

I would give zero status if I could or minus 5. Myself and my partner went there for my birthday in December. We had to choose between the Christmas menus and had no other choice! The starter was simple, the main was well cooked but had to pay for the sides separately and the dessert was awful it was overcooked and hard. There was entertainment which was good (a belly dancer). Throughout our time there the music was incredibly loud we could barely hear each other and since it was my actual birthday on that day I wanted to conversaste with my partner. I asked the manager to lower the music a little because it was really ruining our experience. He said no people come here for this vibe - it was very chaotic. Then a woman who was a waiter there came over and she assisted us - she was very understanding and managed to turn down the music. Then she was really friendly for the remainder of the service as she realised that it really affected me. They were also chasing us to make sure we finished our food I think they have specific service times. All in all it was very expensive…..

Very busy, lovely decor, food is not too bad I enjoyed it. Cocktails could be better but I a fussy I like specific branded drinks, I did not ask so I cant say there were not better options. 1st floor private bar room good for parties

I would not recommend: Pros: -the vibe -music Cons -kept waiting an hour even after making a booking -the waiter was rude, got our orders wrong a couple times and then got angry about it -the waiter was very confrontational -when we informed the staff we had been waiting for an hour, they did not care. They said the booking before was late and wasn’t their fault😐 -the food was very basic -had to constantly ask for basics like water and cups P.s: don’t bother complaining to the manager about the service, he couldn’t care less.

I went to Melin twice. Both times were horrible! The food was mediocre and overpriced! the ” manager” and owner are old hoodlums. I've never felt intimated by “men” until I made minor suggestions on the quality of service and food. on that note, 0/10 I do not recommend!
