Halal Reviews for Fat Hippo Shoreditch

If you're hungry and want value for your money then this is the place to go. All chicken is halal only. The portion is massive so be careful when ordering. Burgers come with 2 chicken fillets and are big in size. Overall nice venue, well spaced out the tables. Food wise can't complain, good chicken. Love the fact that they serve potato tots. The only downside is that the meat burgers look good on the menu but sadly not halal, so I'm hoping soon they manage to become fully halal so I can visit again.

I was super excited to hear about this place opening in shoreditch having heard how much they’re killing it in the north and therefore had high expectations for this place. Unfortunately those expectations were not met 😔. The chips were not as crispy as I had expected and lacked crunch. Also I was surprised about the small portion serving of chips presented. On to the burgers and it didn’t have that wow factor. Out of the burgers we did order I would recommend the Swiss tony and the last samurai thigh. There signature burger the fat hippo was okay, but not great. We found the patty to be slightly over cooked even though we expected it to medium rare. We were super gutted to not experience their milkshakes as the machine was broken, but we understand that it is a new opening and that they were bound to have small niggling issues. Apart from the small teething problems you would have with a new restaurant opening. It was a nice experience but not one where we would be coming back in a hurry.
