I don't know what it is about this place, but it makes me happy. The food is great, but it is still just a chain, so not exceptional. I think it may be the way that they do it, because I love it. I still can't put my finger on what it is they do so right, whether it's the ambience, the room, the staff. I can't tell. But it has the magic, and I totally love it here. I feel excited to be going when I do, and when I leave I am glowing with happiness. Whatever it is they do so right, it's wonderful.

Had a lovely breakfast at the The Ivy on a busy Saturday morning. Decor is simply stunning. Light and airy, colourful and opulent. Service was polite and courteous with a touch of class. Full English was lush and fully accommodating to change the items I did not like. Would have liked there to have been breakfast cocktails on the menu (mimosas, peach bellini etc) but easily asked for. Will definitely book for dinner when next in Brighton!

We booked the private dining room for our pre-wedding family dinner party. The space was perfect for an intimate setting separate from the rest of the restaurant - as we had two small children with us too, they could do as they pleased without disturbing other diners. You can select your own music, and basically anything from drinks choices to running order and of course food options. Lily our hostess was perfect. She was discreet in taking a birthday cake from as, as well as subtly checking in that both us and our guests were happy. Everything ran smoothly and we all felt like VIPs. Our family enjoyed her company as well. All the staff were fabulous and the food was of the highest standard. Thank you for making our evening magical.

Really nice restaurant in the lanes. Food is excellent and service is very good and attentive. Menu choice is good and covers a wide range of dishes for all. Only slight disappointment was the welcome on arrival. As it was busy, people had to wait squeezed up in the entrance lobby until table ready. Would have been nice to be guided to bar to wait. Other than this a great experience.

Service exemplary. Food amazing. Nothing too much trouble. 3 of us were really happy there. I was even given a tiny fresh raspberry and cream sponge 'birthday' cake. With candle. Try it you'll be very impressed.
