The Ninth

Absolutely blown away by The Ninth. We've enjoyed some of London's top restaurants, and agreed this place is undoubtedly amongst the best. The Ninth proves that you don't need to be a pretentious old-school establishment to serve technically-brilliant food, unbelievable desserts and quality wine at very reasonable prices. We cannot wait to return and recommend to other friends.

We stopped by here yesterday and we LOVED the meal we had. A sampling across their menu which produced one exceptional dish after another. Particular highlights were the beetroot salad and tortellini, and Andreas was a really gracious and helpful host. We hope to return soon, and highlight suggest this place in the meantime!

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here, and we had a fantastic time. The setting was lovely, and there was some nice music playing. The food was delicious, as were the drinks and desserts. Customers were also well-served by the kitchen staff!

A very disappointing evening at The Ninth.

I was asked if I wanted a drink no less than six times in total by various members of staff within the first five minutes. This is not only overbearing, but also rude as it constantly interrupts the conversation at the table.

The meals have no cohesion, and are just an assortment of concoctions. When we asked to have the mains together with the starters, this was challenged by the staff who seemed almost offended that this was considered.

The food itself was genuinely very poor. I would consider it much below average for a high street chain restaurant, and it seems our opinions were shared by the table next to us who also left their main course and said it tasted like cough syrup. The food is genuinely not enjoyable. It's disappointing as we had very high hopes for this meal. We tried 6-7 dishes altogether and none of them were even the least bit impressive, or even enjoyable.

It is one of the worst meals we've had in recent memory.

I had to leave in a hurry for a drinks reservation elsewhere, so attempted to pay at the till. The server said she only serves the bill at the table and said 'go and sit down'.

It's like the ninth knows you're committed to pay (handsomely at that) and thereafter doesn't feel the need to give great food or service. A shame, wouldn't return and definitely wouldn't recommend.

Gorgeous food. Very interesting combinations, but everything we tried was lovely. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Would definitely recommend this place
