This place really captured our hearts! They are doing an absolutely amazing job of creating good memories for their guests! We were greeted with big smiles from the second we stepped in! All their servers pay so much attention to detail from filling your glass with water to even wiping the table between courses! Coming from a hospitality background, this goes a very long way! We had a little chat with the GM whose name was Martyn I believe and you could feel the passion in his voice and the love with thich he dos his job! Unfortunately, we did not get the name of our server, but he told us he didn't start working there long and, despite that, he did an absolutely amazing job!

I used to come here as a special treat and it was one of my favourite restaurants, but this time everything changed and there was no value for money. Firstly, I don’t mind the menu change but if you’re going to write “we wanna be better hosts than most” on the cover and proceed to have bad service, for example giving customers half warm half cold towels using a pair of disposable wooden chopsticks, serving food as if you’re dumping it for pigs to eat and introducing the dishes with no eye contact and speaking quickly as if you want to leave as soon as possible, you might as well remove that text from the cover of the menu. Some staff were trying a little more than others but in general there was a very glum mood among them and we hadn’t seen any of them smile, just rushing around the restaurant carrying boxes and trays of dirty dishes. We ordered “As good as it gets” for two people. The tuna tartare was delicious and worked well with the cracker, and provided a much needed sweet break from the other two fish dishes (shake tataki and hiramasa kataifi I believe) which were drowning in salty and sour ponzu. The ebi bites were as good as before, and I enjoyed the texture of the hotate kataifi croquettes. The grilled edamame with soy sauce was an interesting change but the pieces at the bottom of the bowl begin to be too much with the rest of the intense, savoury dishes rather than providing a refreshing feeling which the lemon and salt edamame from before would have, and some are so charred that they taste bitter. The temaki setto’s ingredients are all delicious and high quality, each ingredient bringing a different experience but the seaweed would overpower everything and all I could get was the faint texture of the lobster and wagyu - which should’ve been the star of the dish, rather than the seaweed. It really isn’t the best use of such high quality ingredients. And finally to end it all, the sushi roll looked as if it came from itsu and was worth 3 quid. The salmon seemed dry and plasticky and the shape of the roll was… not something I’d expect for a meal that’s 58 pounds per person. The cod and scallop skewers looked pretty and I had high hopes but instead they were burnt, overcooked and soooo over salted. I felt bad for both sea creatures which died for the dish. The black parts were bitter rather than crispy, and neither was buttery and soft but rather dry and flaky. You would have to pay me to take another bite of it. Of all the dishes to end the meal with, the skewers and sushi were not it. I was so relieved I ordered one of the meals with the least sushi rolls. Unless the chef stops using up all the salt in the sea and overcooking the high quality ingredients, I don’t think I’ll be coming back.

Had an incredible meal here with a friend last night. The staff member was diligent when taking our allergies which we appreciated! We ordered the truffle cauliflower app, sushi, shishitos, Argentinian shrimp skewers, black sesame crème brûlée and the special Wimbledon dessert. Everything was divine and plenty of food for 2 of us. Amazing service and food and they played great tunes!

Always amazing food, my faves hit the spot, my only concern is it felt they were rushing us out as they kept interrupting me as I was talking to my friend and I would forget what I was talking about. It happened more than once. Maybe it's because we had no reservations so we were saying at the high table by the counter but seriously, let us have a moment, the food here is great to be enjoyed and savoured, and atmosphere top but not sure the service was the best when they kept interrupting a conversation, just wait for a pause or a lull u know?
