Japes is a new Pizza Parlour that opened recently in Soho and is, apparently, the first place in London that does Deep Pan Pizza! 🍕 So naturally, we ordered a pizza (the Medditerannean) and the Parmagiana. The pizza was tasty, and that was mostly due to the fact that we love deep pan, cheesy pizza. We did expect more from the toppings though. The Parmagiana was literally just... cheese. All we could taste was cheese 🙂🧀. Not a great veg lasagne! The Garlic Bread was also VERY dry.. took us a while to munch through it while watering down our throats 😂

Enjoyed the deep pan style pizza here a lot, a great fresh of breathe air from the fast food pizzas from Pizza Hut/Domino's. The chicken here is also Halal but they don't serve tomato sauce and chicken together despite the tomato sauce pizza being a lot nicer than the chicken pizza. I'd definitely go back here again in the future, especially if you're looking for a nice upend pizza joint that's not too greasy!

I’ve never tried deep dish pizza but I’m glad I did. I ordered the Mediterranean with sun dried tomatoes (no olives) and it was delicious! Best pizza I’ve had, to be honest.

Also ordered: a deep dish Chicago which was described as very impressive and tasty. We didn’t enjoy the fries, found them to be quite dry and whilst I enjoyed the drink (berry lemonade) it was a bit too tart and the berry didn’t really come through.

The service was perfect. Although we missed our booking, we were able to be seated and the staff were very accommodating. There was a tiny piece of plastic (from food wrapping) and I reluctantly pointed it out to staff - they were so kind is resolving the issue.

The ambience was nice especially for a relaxed Friday evening and I can’t wait to get back. Nice chilled spot for dinner for large groups, solo diners or even smaller groups/ couples.

I sincerely urge people to try their pizzas, unexpectedly a 10/10! The 4/5 truly is because of the fries/ drink.

Went to Japes on Sat afternoon. Didn’t book any table but, as it was quite early (6 pm), I tried my luck and stepped into the restaurant asking for a table. The hostess welcomed me with a smile and told me that unfortunately the only table available was outside as inside it was already fully booked. She explained to me that there were little heathers near the tables outside. I accepted and the waiter accompanied me to the table. I ordered pretty fast as I was starving and craving the famous Chicago style pizza. I am Italian so really wanted to try another style of pizza. My tomato and cheese (plus basil) Pizza arrived after not even 10 minutes and the appearance was not as I expected. I was expected a really small and thick pizza. The pizza wasn’t that small and wasn’t that thick, however definitely thicker that the pizza I am used to. Tried it and it tasted absolutely fab! The tomato sauce was amazing, like if my mum had made it, authentic, tomato taste and the basil was the cherry on the cake to that taste. Lot of cheese made the perfect combination! In conclusion, I really liked the Chicago style pizza and of course I will go again if I will be in the area.

A must try place for Chicago deep dish pizza. The garlic bread was a 11/10 as the pizza itself was to die for. So cheesy and flavorful. And the crispiness of the fries were on another level. I cannot recommend this place enough

Really delicious pizzas, Chicago style deep dish. They are really tasty, and have lots of tomato sauce and cheese. Cheese heaven! A bit messy to eat but you don't mind when they are this good. They are also really filling and good price.

On the menu in our restaurant we serve Halal chicken wings, chicken burgers, and chicken pizza.
