We were pretty surprised at how much fun we had at Gilgamesh as it was a very last minute decision to go there for a friend’s birthday. Clearly spontaneous decisions are the ones best made! 😄

Food: We all really enjoyed the food. For starters we ordered the Soft Shell Crab Tempura and Crispy Squid. Although the Tempura was a tiny bit oily, we were very pleased with both of our choices. Two of us then ordered the Singapore Noodles and the other two ordered the Tiger Prawn pad Thai, and, again, were very happy as both mains tasted amazing 👏🏽. The only downside to Gilgamesh was that when we ordered chips, we literally got about 8 pieces of potato 🙄. Guys I’m not even exaggerating, we literally got two each 😂.
Service: Really good, they even allowed us to bring in helium balloons, flowers, a cake and gift bags full of presents!

So here's a pic from last week, I treated a friend to @gilgameshlondon for her birthday. 
But what I'll remember the night for was a wedding proposal from the guy sat next to me. He even asked me to film it for him on his phone. Very surreal. 
Anyway it was my second visit and I wasn't blown away by the food. It's Michelin starred prices for very mediocre food. For starters I got some chicken wings and my got some tofu. The tofu portion size was a joke but the wings were a good size, but not that great, it was just covered in hot sauce. 
For my main I had a jungle curry, it was thin and not thick and lacked any deep flavours or spice.

My friends chicken was good on the other hand. 
I think this place is all about the decor and atmosphere. 
The service was interested. Okay, I don't wanna get all judgemental or poticial, but should a restaurant hire staff that can't speak English? I asked for "Cutlery" and she had to get some else to help. 
But the restaurant did honor the tastecard before 6.30pm and gave me 50% off the food bill. 
Im all about the food and the food here didn't blow me away.

Me and my girlfriend had dinner on a Wednesday evening. The food was okay, chicken was slightly dry and rubbery, the rice was good. The place looks beautiful and spacious. Decor looks North African. The staff were polite and helpful.

The dress code says shirt and shoes however I saw customers with baseball hats and trainers. Might be worth updating their website!!

Went on a buy a gift set menu, gift from my parents from Christmas. Service was fine, food was pretty gross, and actually made me poorly. Cocktail had a dead fly in it, and our prawn crackers were forgotten, we had to ask for them again. Our starters didn't come out at the same time, which is fair enough as the sushi is made fresh, but nobody forewarned us of this. His sushi was edible, my soup had overcooked and rubbery prawns and tofu. My boyfriend and I are absolute foodies and we couldn't even finish our mains. Overcooked, sloppy and unseasoned noodles, and a curry that legitimately smelt like old cheese, full of overdone, rubbery seafood. The puddings tasted synthetic and with an odd texture. Basically I feel like the Buy a Gift set menu guests get a worse deal, and I can imagine the food is just batch cooked and left to sit in big vats or something. Really horrible experience, will ask my parents for a nice sweater next Christmas.

The restaurant is amazing with unique decor interiors and oriental menu. The place is very close to stations and bus stops. Should be ideal for a nice dinner with good portions to satisfy hunger. Jacob serving at the dining venue was amazing in receiving and serving the guests. Must visit.

Went there on a set menu offer, you would think it would be a way to promote your business but apart from the starts the mains and dessert were bland and boring. Really did not enjoy those. The starters were delicious! If you want to go, don't go for the set menu, it was highly disappointing.

The service was great, but the waiter did have to keep checking dietary cautions with the manager. But he was very attentive and the manager's service was excellent! I would go back, but for the sushi, not the set menu.

Absolutely wonderful restaurant. This is more on the expensive side, but it is perfect for a special night out. There are tons of different choices and very unique food, especially the black rice dishes. The decor is exquisite, wood carvings everywhere. Also a great place to go for drinks, they have tons of fresh fruit cocktails and the bar area is lovely.
