Convenient, quick-service, flame-grilled Peri Peri chicken

I checked out an old school spot Five Lads. I frequently went to the original that opened in Leyton years ago, but was invited to check out the Goodmayes location @fiveladsgoodmayes 

I tried a range of items, the new chicken thigh burger was brilliant, a massive juicy grilled chicken thigh that was soft and delicious. They also got a really yum £3.99 small milk cake that's worth trying

What I ordered

Beef with Halloumi wrap £8.49 
Lamb chops £12.49 potatoes wedges 
Bonless leg burger £8.99 corn on cob
Single platter £18.99 peri chips, coleslaw 
Mocktail strawberry, mojito
Nutella milk cake £3.99

Great service yesterday ! Was very impressed with the phone customer service! Took my order and have me a realistic time scale for order. Went into collect my order the receptionist was a amazing and I could even see the chef in the back he seemed very passionate about the food. Over all a great place with great food. The team are great at what they do. All the staff had a smile on their faces. I felt really welcomed! I definitely recommend them

You gotta eat here. Hands down the best grill chicken around. I love the sauce they use..nice big portion of chips and generous amount of chicken in the variety platter. 

To the owners: please please keep to this kind of cooking and portions. We will always come here to get out treat.

My boyfriend and I decided to try Five Lads for the first time today and we couldn't be happier with the food!

The food tasted incredible, it was better than Nandos. The peri chips were unreal and chicken had lovely flavour. Really liked the Peri mayo.

My boyfriend said that was the best chicken wrap he has ever had. 

Only negative was that there could be a bigger selection of sugar free fizzy drinks.

Will DEFINITELY order again!

Staff and customer service were pleasant. Ordered the 15 wings platter and about 5 wings were under cooked which didn't taste nice. The lamb chops were over cooked and lost it's moisture and tenderness. The only decent food was my child's food. Might visit again but not anytime soon.
