Fried chicken joint known for bottomless wings on Wednesday

The only reason this place didn’t get a 10 for food is because we’ve still got 1001 other restaurants in London to try out 🌚😂

Food: Guys. The food was incredible. We ordered the Hot Melt (new on the menu) which consisted of chicken tenders, chicken wings and a waffle slider that you could dip in cheese fondue. It also came with deep fried babybel and nacho chips; the perfect cheesy chicken meal! We also got the Messy Burger which was absolutely delicious. It would just be wrong for us not to order any wings so we asked for the Crispy Buttermilk Wings... they were huge! Obviously, Mac ‘n’ Cheese was also a must and we loved Absurd’s version! 🤤
Service: The staff were very friendly (remember to ask for a UniDays discount if you’re a student!)

When you order the most ridiculous looking thing for the gram! .

So this is called the Total Melt from @absurdbirduk in Spitalfields (chicken halal). Costing £10.95. Its a jar of cheese fondant, served with buffalo chicken with waffles, buffalo chicken wing, celery and tomato dippers (coz that will make it heathly) and a chicken tender with cheese balls and cheese dust. Mental..or should a say absurd! .

I already ordered a lot of starters so when this arrived I was like... Yeh.. I'm not gonna be able to finish this. So had to attempt to do a take away. But yeah, this one was definitely for the gram. .

Absurd Bird Spitalfields

Waiters were polite and pleasant. Waffles were good. Fried chicken pieces and wings didn't have much flavour. Gravy was watery. Rum cocktail wasn't great.

Manager came across as rude to our group. Booked for 90 min, but told we could only have 1 hour when we arrived, unless we sat at a one row table where we could not face each other and talk. Not apologetic. When we complained that we had made a booking for 90 min, manager told us it was our fault for not accepting the bench table.

Once seated we were not told how to order. After waiting for a while, eventually worked out that we had to use an app. One order came out with 2 dips incorrect and another order had a dip missing.

Not too busy, could order food and drinks via an app. All safe and clean for Covid and tasty cocktails!

Ordered for delivery The Korean chicken burger. Food comes nicely presented in their own box. The burger was amazing. Full of flavour and a decent size. Definitely will try them again!

- for burger, the chicken piece is the same as on the waffle but the bun is horrible, could be better if toasted

- Mac and cheese is very cheesy and taste very peppery and that's it

Our main waiter was personable and polite (even if the maître d' wasn't that fussed by us being there) but the actual wait didn't seem to fit the number of people or time of day. When the food did come out it was poorly reheated and in one case borderline inedible. Shame really, seemed to have real potential.

All of our chicken is Halal across all branches.
