Great meat quality. We ordered mixed grill which had 5 types of meat and all were delicious and so tender, also ordered lamb chops and humus. Lamb chops were well cooked and delicious. Humus was average quality.
Keep in mind you will be charged %18 tip by themselves, and if paying with card add %2.5 so minimum total %20.

Went to this place for dinner on a weekend. The place got really a good ambience and atmosphere. I have ordered the lahmacun, fried calamari, mixed salad, lamb chops and mixed grill. The food was really good. Kabab were juicy and tender. Overall I had good experience.

As a customer for over 6 years, this was my last time here. Truva has become a terrible place for the value and especially customer service. Beef platter shown in the photo is $24 but portion size is so small! Their prices increased insanely after pandemic for no better reason than that they can. They charge for water & for every other little thing you ask for. I asked for 2 sides of salad and they gave me small portion size for the price. I asked for more salad and was given attitude about it from server. The worst part was when the check came, they placed a service charge for 4 people! I took a look at the menu & it was not written there. I’ve been in the restaurant business before & the minimum number of people needed to add a service charge is 6. That was a bad move from you guys, shame on you. When confronted with why she added that, she said it’s been that way for 2 years. I’ve been here just 2 weeks ago with NO service charge & have been a customer longer than their server employees have been working there. She proceeded to say that even if she removes the service charge it would be the same price with the tip. Tip is never mandatory & it’s up to US to decide how much you get depending on the service we have received.

To management: if you have any backbone & care about customers who made your business in the first place, I strongly advise you to invest in intensive customer service training for your employees because they are lacking.

Excellent food, great service, and the lunch special are great at $16.00 not bad for all the food. I love Turkish coffee I recommend this place. Definitely, I will visit Truva Cafe.

I simply asked for french fries in my sandwich. It shouldn’t be this hard to satisfy clients needs when we pay whatever it is and don’t receive proper care. They forgot to send my bread last time when I ordered, another time was my drinks and so on. I love their menu but their preparation needs to be checked. That one time when they forget my bread I called them and said “ you guys always forget something on my orders and I keep ordering. I won’t be ordering again “ the lady who answered the phone said “ if that’s the case why you are ordering “ not even saying sorry or asking me if i want my bread. How I suppose to eat food with no bread. Definitely this was my last time eating from there. Not recommended for those reasons.

While making my way around Steinway Street in Astoria Queens I came across something I've never experienced before which was a restaurant that says Halal Chinese. I never seen a halal Chinese spot before so I decided I'd step in to see what's going on. The outside wasn't so decorative which is cool but the awning was very nicely decorated. When I stepped in it was a nice quiet place not many people were there at all. I was greeted by two young ladies and they took my order. I ordered the Mongolian chicken. Once the order was placed I didn't wait very long I'll say maybe about 8 minutes and the food was ready hot steamy and very flavorful the only problem is it wasoily and salty. I believe because of the source I'm not sure if they use soy sauce in it but it was a bit salty for me. I believe that I will order it again and inform them if they're using soy sauce is no reason for salt and if they are using soy sauce then next time use less. But the chicken tasted wonderful. I've had Mongolian chicken before and the chicken was very rubbery from another restaurant in Chinatown. The scallions were sliced to perfection as well as the purple onions. The rice was fluffy but not what I was used to from some of the place I've been. This is a new restaurant in the strip and it makes for a pleasant place to stop for a bite to eat if you want to change from the shawarma and gyros usually offered on the block. I think I will make another visit and try another dish. I will get back with you with another review. Good job on the eats.

I’m not sure what all the bad reviews are about-we almost didn’t give it a try but soooo so glad we did. The food here was phenomenal! The Mongolian beef was soo tender and flavor it’s def a must try. Beef broccoli and chicken broccoli were also really good as well. Service was amazing and our waitress (nurin?) was super kind and even gave us taro ice cream on the house. Which also was amazing! My new fav spot . Best part it’s all zabiha . Go you won’t regret it!

Idk about these bad reviews because I didn’t try the food, but the place is nice, it’s new to the area. I tried the large coconut milk tea boba and it was really good for $6.80, would definitely come back for it again.

2nd time at this place, I live in NJ and it is definitely worth the trip.. the food is amazing, the duck is great.. the friendliest waiters Nuren and Aachal. Definitely would recommend this place..

This is my 1st experience in this Restaurant...and i wish i can say something nice about this place from bad service to bad food and worst presentation of food. This is the only place serve Halal Duck in NYC. I was quiet happy to try one untill they tell me they out of it. I order Chilli Beef and Mangolian chicken alone with hot n Sour soup instead. In addition i order couple of juice tea with light ice. After few minutes of wait they serve food...both main Entrees were soaked in oil badly, Soup was extremely Sour...drinks were full of ice and they gave dessert plates instead of regular serving plates. I address these issues to server,he said sorry and get vanished. Me and wifey gave up after few bites. I pay the bill and walk out...Lady on register nice enough not to charge for drinks. One and done...not going back.

As of December 2022, Mr. Chang Halal Chinese will no longer be HMS certified.

Our goal is to provide peak service to our guests, with the highest level of quality products. Due to the inconsistencies, lack of availability and limited services, we have respectfully decided to no longer be certified by any organization.

However we will continue to provide zabihah (hand slaughtered) meat to our patrons.

I was very excited to try out their food, and well, it didn't disappointed me. Each dish are giving back the traditional taste, not just that the food soo tasty, the serving was beautiful as well! Professional workers!

Please don’t waste your time Okay let me brutally honest i was a big fan of this place pre pandemic best hookah best food I went during the pandemic it was okay I decided to go tonight the prices drastically increase not worth it . We had to sent the hookah back three times and then we gave up. The staff that work there was great  it wasn’t there fault you can clearly see is pure mismanagement✌🏽

Cool place to hangout and have a drink listen to music. Staff is pretty cool and friendly. Met some friends to hangout during the week.
With that said there is room for improvement.
While your trying to enjoy time they are continuously bringing supplies in. These things should be done prior to opening. (Just my opinion). Tables are dirty, in need of a wipe down. I must say I did not stay long. The menu only had wings!! Really!!!

I don't know if it was the particular night that I visited but the sound system seemed off, it hurt my ears to listen to the music. The drinks were way too strong, the bartender didn't know how to mix the drinks well. The DJ was all over the place with the music. I would however visit again to give it another try because I have heard good things. Like I said maybe it was just one of those nights.

A NIGHTMARE THE WAITERS ARE SO RUDE THEY WALK PASS LIKE THEY DONT SEE YOU.. You literally have to get up and go to the bar on your own.The hookah doesn’t last long . The blue Long Island tea is full of syrup 😑..The owner is a heavy set guy  he hardly knows out to satisfy customers all he cares about is get more people in the place . The music had no organization. If you have a party of 4 you have to spend a minimum of $140 .i order wings and fries it was $25 wing are $13 the fries are $10 .. The hookah is $20 depending on the kind you get ...

Steinway Halal Grill

Despite bad reviews I’ve been eating at Different Steinway restaurants/trucks/whatever you want to consider an establishment that sells halal food.  This is by far is the best truck I’ve eaten at. This is now my 4th time eating here and I keep it simple. Chicken kebab over salad or over rice and it hits every time! Go get some you won’t regret it. U can sit outside and eat and chill. Grab yourself some red and white sauce too. No regrets.

after the guy told me it was $15 for my chicken over rice, water, and brisk, I angrily forked over the cash and walked back to the car thinking I overpaid. I open up the bag and see two soups and a full salad, accompanying my chicken over rice. $15 for all that felt like a steal and I felt bad for my reluctance in paying.

So I'm writing this review to say $13 for the chicken over rice, soups, and salad was a great deal on top of the canned drink and water for $1 each. I actually do a stand up bit about overpaying for halal food, so ironically enough I wouldn't this time

Probably the best fish restaurant in the US!!
You pick your own fresh fish and they will either grill it or fry it for you. Everything we ate here including all the side dishes were full of flavors.

Fried fish is my favorite. Blackened is also great and a healthier option. This is an authentic middle eastern place. You walk in, point out the fish you want, and they cook it for you. The fish is fresh. Their bread is amazing and you'll want some sides. Just don't expect a fancy dining experience. Bring dinner friends and order a bunch to try and share. You'll be happy.

One of the best " pick out your fish and we will season and cook it for you" kind of joints in Queens.. the middle eastern esque sides make the experience that much more enjoyable.. highly recommend a visit

I have both dined in and ordered for take out. The Branzini and the seafood are all so fresh seasoned well and so yummy delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant. Also the staff are all very friendly and helpful.

I loved being able to pick out the raw cuts of seafood before sitting down. Truly a unique and delicious experience.

Duzan

Duzan is a great place to order from. Their food is phenomenal. I’ve ate from here and DoorDash’d on separate occasions and their customer service was tremendous. One complaint though is the parking situation - I know it’s beyond the workers’ control, so keep that in mind if you’re picking up an order from this restaurant. They work so fast, and they’re super concise.

First time being there and first time eating this kind of food. I have to say everything from customer service to the food is A1.  It was so good. Ppl were nice. Customer service top notch. Plus you get more food then you can eat in one sitting. I was in heaven.

The food is the star here.  It always maintains a level of quality and freshness.  The service is not fast, but they also do a high volume.  It's worth the wait.

I have been going to this place for a long time, but they always change workers, and they mass up my orders but I stop going. Then I visited lately I found a new girl her name is Hanane: she's amazing: always taking the order with a smile, very helpful, good energy. Please if you don't want to wait longer. Ask for Hanane she will make your experience great.

I've been coming here for quite a while now and I have to say, they never disappoint! The food tastes amazing, if you are thinking about going, just go!
If you decide to go (which you totally should) I suggest you go for their famous Chicken Platter with yellow rice. Now, if your taste buds love spice, I would go for the Chicken Platter with  Basmati rice. They have other options on their menu so it's totally up to you!
Lastly, the pricing is not bad at all. For two Chicken Platters, the price is about $20 and mind you, you are going to be getting a lot of food on one plate! In simpler words, you are getting a lot of food for a fairly low price. So once again, if you are thinking about going to this restaurant, just go, you won't regret it.

Halal is my favorite comfort food so I’ve been to many places but I tell you There’s something very special about this place. I will most definitely be returning and I live in Brooklyn so that should tell you something it’s definitely worth the travel. Wish I could rate you guys 7 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Simply the best.  Love their falafel - usually in pita sandwich form.  Quick service, fair price, and most importantly delicious.

This was my first time having halal and now I can honestly say I'll be having it weekly. The place is great, giving out fresh and crispy falafel while you wait to place your order. I highly recommend the Big Daddy dish.

The host at the front was very welcoming and the waitresses were very attentive and accommodating. They really took their time with us and recommended amazing dishes. The food was so delicious and the drinks were super yummy. The pineapple fried rice was really good and presented so nicely. All of their noodle dishes were really good and the flavors were so well balanced. The Oasis mocktail was very refreshing, if you’re into lemony-minty drinks then it’s a must order. I highly recommend coming here!!

If there is a ten star i would give it to this place! Best  vegetarian Thai dishes i have ever eaten in NY! Their food has a unique taste which increases you appetite. Great cozy indoor decoration. Perfect for a date night.  Please visit this place if you are in New York city!

If you are looking for Thai food, this is a must try! Great customer service with good food. What else do you want! Went there with my family earlier today. All the dishes we ordered were so fresh and perfectly cooked! Their food can be little spicy so chose the spice option when you order. Can't wait to go back again.

Chingri is the best Thai spot in the town and i mean it! Great service! All the dishes were as delicious as they were decorated. They had vegetarian options for most of the dishes. My girlfriend loved it. Perfect spot for a date night!

Order chicken and beef quesadilla from here... they were very delicious but wasn’t what I was expecting... it was an America style of quesadilla with sour cream. The hot sauce was spicy at all, but would order again from them.

Tacossss all day every dayy! Extra points for being super clean. Will most definitely be going back to try the Mexican platter and burritos.

Support small business over large chains! Great burrito place. They can toast the whole thing on the grill. Tofu for non-meat option and shrimp available too. Guac included. Good quality ingredients for the price point. Quick and friendly service. Recommended!

The Gully NYC

Pretty good place to eat the naan was really good and the dishes were really nice my favorite was the butter chicken. The rice however is so-so and it’s like $5 for the rice which has too much cardamom. The food was fireeeeee other than that

My wife and I love Indian food. We got a flyer in the mail for this place and decided it was worth checking out.

We made the decision to go on a Friday night in the summer. Since we got there at an early time for dinner (6:30 pm), it was easy to get seated. Notably, they have a 45 min seating policy once food arrives.

Our server came out and asked if we were cool with either soda or water. We decided water and they brought out Poland spring bottles. Notably, the place does not serve alcohol.

We placed or orders and the food came out in about 15 mins. The Chicken Tikka Mac and Cheese was hands down our fave part of the night. We also both really liked our entrees. I love the creamy consistency of the sauces for both the Saag and Korma. Other Indian places have sauces that are pretty runny.

The vibes were chill, the Indian music playing at the place gave it a nice ambiance, and the food was really delicious.

Highly recommend you check this place out when you’re in Astoria.

Amazing mix of food. Came all the way from Philly to see what this was about and have to say, I am not disappointed. The Mac&Cheese could have used a bit more noodles, whole thing was drenched in cheese. Everything else was delicious!

Pros:
The food was good. It was the right kind of spice for me; not too spicy. 

- Waitress was friendly.

Cons:
- Unable to have a proper conversation due to loud music. It feels like being in a club instead of a restaurant.

- Mostly sauce & potatoes; not enough chicken.

- Manager/owner came of rude/mean.

The food was decent quality, but it's not worth the hype. I had the butter chicken from there, which was very sweet. Also, the manager/owner came off rude.

Average food. Very disappointed by awesome sauce dressing. Its actually sweet and tastes just like bar BQ sauce. I was hoping for a much better signature sauce. Food was good in quantity, burgers are big but lacks flavor.

A fantastic selection of flavors for halal wings. Personal favorite is the makhni. Also, 6 Alarm burger is the best burger we've had in a while. It's spicy, generously sized, and full of flavor. And cannot forget about those loaded fries. Halal bacon as a topping, it was really good!! Best halal place in Astoria.

Pretty dope place for a meal and a nice price. You can get a burger fries and soda for like 7 bucks And the food is good not like some other places

Delicious Halal burgers with seasoned patties, crispy fries, large array of sauces and great presentation. They have a $5 burger promotion on Mondays and Wednesdays and 70¢ wings promotion on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Jonathan was super-accomodating, recommended the best combinations and seemed like the perfect person to walk us through our experience. This is a well-executed burger & wings joint.

First time today went to this spot. Service was fast and friendly and the wings are awesome.
The cashier of the location was very helpful. I would definitely recommend it. A++ guys keep up the good work.

Halal Munchies

Came all the way from Staten Island to check this place out. Worth it! I walked in and the staff took my order quickly and respectfully and gave me my food in under 2 minutes. I got the Mix Over Rice (lamb and chicken). It was excellent; very well seasoned and and well portioned. There was way more meat than you would expect from a halal food tray and I love that. The sauces tastes balanced, just enough spice to keep it interesting but not enough to burn my tongue. Fries were crispy and nicely seasoned, and the salad was diverse, it was not just lettuce and ranch, it had more content than most other halal providers. They stopped indoor dining but they left a tent outside for roadside dining, and they have face shields for their workers, so I'd say they handled this pandemic very well. If you are ever on Steinway or even in Astoria I strongly recommend you check this place out. I will be coming back soon, God willing.

These guys are phenomenal!!!!!!!! Whether they are super busy or quiet they treat you kindly and are genuine every-time.
The Food is delicious and made with lots of love. The portions are definitely healthy and worth the money. Please stop by if you need a quick bite!!

Food here is great, but they should do better to control the customers without masks during these times. It felt like the clerk didn't care whether you wore a mask or not, which makes me question the sanitation procedures they have in place.

First time in New York , never had heard of this spot other then halal guys. I tasted both joints, down right halaal munchies wins. They taste fresh and had more of a taste not bland and great customer service. The owner and cooks know what they are doing..I definitely will spread the word !
