Solis - Chicken & Steak Grill

Couple of weeks back on entry at 3pm Saturday, we (3) got seated on a table for 2, (no hi or hello from the waiter just hand gestured us to follow her) ok not bad, but if 3 of us had more food, it would have been certainly crammed & the restaurant was partially empty. Anyways onto the food, we all ordered the same after having to call over a waiter to take our orders, medium rare steak n chips. Within 5 mins of ordering the food arrived, wow super fast, anyways as we were tucking into the food, we all thought the steaks were merely warm n not hot. If it was hot off the grill it would have tasted much much better, I think the steaks were placed cooked on a hot plate n then sliced as per order, we felt disappointed overall in the steaks. To be honest we’ve had better steaks n also for an awesome price too- (Swiss Butter Holborn). Anyways what this place does best is the dessert! The creamy lush cheesecake with berry sauce is absolutely gorgeous, 10/10 dessert, but the steaks & service I give it a regrettable 5/10.

All dishes were so brilliant and really delicious! I've never experienced such lovely croquettes, beef stakes with delicious fries, and tomato salad!! I really want to know what flavor was the source and dressing. And Fayiza was so kind to us and we really enjoyed this experience thanks to her. I'll visit here again soon!

I’ve been here at least 10 times and it’s great every time. The halal steak and fries are excellent and so is the burnt cheesecake. The croquettes are so delicious too.

This time, what prompted me to leave a review is Fayzah’s excellent service!! She explained every menu item to the first timers in our group and gave her own recommendations. She was genuinely brilliant and she deserves a promotion!!!!

An excellent dining experience with amazing food and great drinks. Our server, Mercedes, was exceptionally helpful, guiding us through the menu and providing excellent recommendations with a wonderful personality.

Unfortunately, our visit began on a sour note due to an unpleasant and rude hostess who refused to seat us despite available tables. She didn't give us the option to wait and instead provided a sarcastic remark: "What, do you want me to put two tables together?" We had to ask to speak to the manager and thankfully, the manager was very pleasant and quickly resolved the issue, ensuring we had a great evening.

Overall, Solis Restaurant is fantastic, thanks to our server Mercedes and the great food and drinks. I look forward to returning, hoping for a smoother start next time. Hopefully, they can address the issue with the hostess, as dealing with customers in this manner is unprofessional and almost cost them our custom.

Absolutely loved this place! The atmosphere and vibes so nice. I loved their menu, very simple not too much and maybe the explains why food tastes good and fresh! We ordered also one kids meal and the portion is generous. Highly recommend

@detroitpizzalondon has been open for about a year now and seeing as I've never tried a detroit style pizza, I thought I'd set plans for Friday dinner. Baked in blue steel pans, it's supposed to be properly authentic for anyone wanting a detroit style pizza.

So I opted for the Red Stripe pizza which was £17 for a large, add ground beef and it's £20 - no this isn't cheap pizza as you can see. *Please note only their beef is halal.* My expectations were quite high and then I took my first bite. Lip smackingly good. That Sourdough crust gets you - so airy snd crunchy on the exterior. Unlike any other crust. Cheese was brilliant and they ain't kidding with the name - was literally a red stripe of beautiful tangy tomato sauce. Often I need to ask for extra tomato sauce but there was ample here and I loved that no ingredient in the pizza was more overpowering than the other. Usually when you ask for additional toppings it's nothing too eventful but these guys are using quality quality beef suppliers and for £3 it's definitely worth that beef. Spread so well and evenly, it's for sure the best beef I've ever had on a pizza.

The pizza itself is a square shape and quite thick so naturally is quite heavy. A large will be enough for 3 maybe 4 people. Got some ranch sauce too and it went well (£2.50) for it is a little steep imo. I'm fed up of most pizza joints tasting the same as they're all using similar suppliers, there's no variety. This is outstanding.

As I type this review the taste is still in my mouth. Easily one of the best pizzas I've ever had if not the best. You can order online and it'll take 20 or so min. Do it.

The best pizza in London, the best blue steel pan pizza in UK. I can swim in their marinara sauce.
The space is tight but I don't mind the coziness. Service is polite and efficient. They're just a few years old establishment and I'm glad they thrived through the pandemic with takeaways and deliveries.
Always made to order. I get the regular size because all edges are guaranteed to be smothered with cheese and they are the best part, imo.
Such a perfect base if you're about to have a night out and likely to assault your stomach with alcohol or otherwise.
Their wings were great but they recently changed their gorgonzola dip. It has less cheese now, which was a bit disappointing but must be more friendly to the mass audience. I just like my salt.
Been here more than a handful. I will keep coming back and sharing the pizza gospel to more friends.

One of the best pizza in London, it is different than any other pizza places. The pizza is thick but fluffy and not greasy, it was really delicious and very reasonably price for the size and quality. We had it for takeaway and it was still tasting amazingly good when we arrived home, we had some leftovers and it still tasted really good and wasn’t dry at all which really surprised me. Would like to see some more variety in the toppings but otherwise have no more notice. Staff were friendly. Definitely will be one of our new favourite places.

As a Southern Italian, I’m usually quite conservative when it comes to pizza but I must say that Detroit-style pizza is gorgeous.
A bit on the heavy side, sure, but the dough is fluffy and the ingredients are really tasty.
Also the Kentucky Fries Chicken was good.
Totally recommended.

One of the best pizzas in London! So big, so tasty. I had a regular supreme and it was too much to eat in one sitting but they gave me a box to take away. I've been to all 50 States and this is up there with the best detroit style pizza I've had. Reasonable prices, really friendly staff but most of all super delicious. The only down side is we sat in the window and the pizza looks so good that a lot of people will stare at you!

An unforgettable lunch! The Detroit Style pizza is marvellous. The cheese crust bonds with the dough for a crunchy and tasty pleasure! The service is good and you can feel their pride for serving their amazing pizza! Well done all! See you soon... maybe already tomorrow :)

Great service, we were hungry so glad the food came out very quick! Lamb was great in both the starters and mains and dessert was really good. Service was good and had a chat with the manager who was willing to spend time with us. Some items a bit over priced and portion sizes a bit small. Def worth a visit for a special occasion

Overpriced for the small portions. My paneer with garlic naam was delicious, but the chicken was dry. The cocktails are really good and the desserts too, fast service but you can tell they are overwhelmed and overworked

Food was good but overpriced. Decor was nice, enjoyed the exposed brick arch and industrial chic. Service was bad though, one waiter kept pushing back on our group’s starter choices trying to make us into buy more or going with a tasting menu. Head waiter in grey suit had a bit of an ego issue, lost composure and gave terse and rude responses when you tried to get his attention, didn’t come across well. Plenty of other better Indian restaurants in London.

We came on a non-busy weekday which was a blessing. The place is big enough to host more people. The food was really delicious. I had the vegetarian food and it was simply superb. He does not have many options so you are limited in your choice but whatever I had was really worth it.

Long time fans of Cinnamon Club, so we were excited to try the weekend brunch. While the Cinnamon brand tends to be on the pricy end (but always with it), the weekend brunch is very reasonably priced given the sheer quantity (hello leftovers).

Everything was very good. The samosa chaat was excellent, as were the masala scrambled eggs with parathas. We also particularly enjoyed the lamb roganjosh (very large portions). The absolute highlight through was the ginger toffee pudding (I think that’s what it was called) with cinnamon ice cream.

The service was also excellent. While they don’t have masala chai on the menu, one of the managers made one especially for us - served in a small glass, Indian dhaba style.

Like all things associated with the Cinnamon brand, it’s the small things that count, and this place really delivers.

Our chicken and lamb is Halal. Halal meat orders will be cooked away from pork and non-Halal meats.

Took advantage of a warm summer eve during the heatwave this week to check out @batterseapwrstn for the first time! There are some good foodie options to choose from in the area, an outdoor cinema & some crazy golf to keep you entertained ⛳️ 

It would have been rude not to stop by @rotikinguk for some Malaysian food - one of my favourite cuisines 😍

We ordered roti canai w/ mutton curry, nasi goreng 🍤 & a roti w/ coconut jam for dessert 🥥 Everything on the menu is حلال. A cold teh tarik is just what I needed in that weather too 💦 

In terms of parking, there’s only really one option nearby in a private car park which charges by the hour. Even then, it wasn’t very clear which bays were for the general public. You’re better off getting the underground, seeing as there’s a brand new station here 👍🏽

Roti King Battersea

Roti King IS the KING of Roti. Their Roti is fluffy and tasty able to compliment any dish with sauce. Chicken Roti Amazing. Murtabak lamb bursting with flavour. Service Quick and friendly. Prices excellent for the quality and the area. Lots of seating inside and large seating high tables outside. Situated on the paved street at Battersea station is a place to visit for excellent food.

We visited here and ordered Roti Canai Mutton and Nasi Goreng along with a Ice Cold Flavored Tea. The dishes were amazingly tasty and delicious. Every item was cooked perfectly and the service was also very quick, even the prices too are pocket friendly. It was absolutely worth visiting here.
The young lady at the reception was very courteous and she suggested us that lovely tea as well, moreover our Chef Salio made the day for us with his scumptous preparations. We really enjoyed the food and the ambience at Roti King Battersea and look forward to visit there soon again.

Roti is well made! We ordered Mutton dahl and just the plain dahl, we prefer the mutton dahl as the spices seem to blend more together. Also ordered Nasi Lemak- chicken is lacking a bit of flavour but good meal nevertheless. I enjoyed the roti more than the rice meal. Beautiful walk with the sun setting over the pier after dining!

It was a pleasant surprise to eat Roti for the first time. The flavours were delicious, and the cooking and service were excellent. The prices are typical. If you are in the Buttersea area, this is a great place to relax and eat.

The service was prompt and all 3-4 of the wait staff we interacted with were very friendly and attentive.

The food was lovely. And the outside seating was wonderful on a warm May evening, even if we were right in front of the extraction vent (which gave out some funny smells on occasion, but perhaps that makes it feel like you’re actually in Asia).

Only criticism would be the Nasi lemak portion size for the price, but that might be asking too much at London prices!

All good on our menu is Halal. Alcohol is sold at this location.

Megan's Battersea Power Station Restaurant

Visited here on a Friday evening at 6:30. It was relatively quiet but got busier rather quickly.
The interior is beautiful and a lot of detail has gone into it. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our servers were attentive and food came out quickly but once we had our mains, our servers did not come back with a dessert menu, to check on us or see if we wanted the bill. We sat for around 30 minutes before we had to ask for the bill.

The food was absolutely delicious and I cannot fault it. Overall it was a lovely evening, but the service should be consistent throughout the visit.

I've been to a few of the Megan's around London and this one is possibly the cutest. Both inside and outside are designed so beautifully.

I arrived on a Sunday around 1130, they advised they were short staffed so things might be slower than usual. Which I love. Let me know in advance there is a wait and I'll not even mind if it's longer than usual.

I ordered my usual Avo on toast. The servings are decent and delicious.

I had two coffees, latte and iced coffee, both really tasty.

We were never rushed, even though they started to get busy after we'd finished eating.

I'd definitely recommend going early if you want brunch, as when we left around 1330 it was packed.

Wonderful decor and good location. We dined inside as it was too cold in the evening to sit outside and enjoy the view. We were told by all the neighbouring restaurants that they were full and therefore it was nice to be accepted as a walk-in at Megan’s. However the food was not up to the standard I was expecting from Megan’s given the number of recommendations. The cauliflower had uncooked spices, so tasted bitter. The chicken nuggets were very dry, even the sauce did not help. The steak and frites were very disappointing and almost felt like it was a reheated frozen meal. However the lamb kebab was the tastiest, but again was extremely dry. I’m hoping Megan’s had a bad day. But I’m not sure I would want to waste anymore money visiting again, given the other good restaurants in the area.

It was okay. I understand it was jubilee bank holiday but it was really loud. Portions were a bit small for "shares", the buttermilk fried chicken was not a sharing plate it was more a side one. The "Bellini cocktail" was just prosecco and not even a dash of passion fruit juice. The best thing was the cookie dough, it was actually a big portion and really tasty.

First time visiting Megan’s and it was spectacular. We did have a long wait to order and had to grab the attention of staff a few times. However the food was incredible which made up for this. We got a platter and a few sides and each dish was so delicious. I would recommend booking in advance as it was a long wait for walk ins.

Our chicken & sucuk ‘Turkish chorizo’ are halal. Please check with staff before ordering as suppliers can change.

Taste of Rajasthan - but with a contemporary twist

A great Indian restaurant for fine dining. The food is authentic Indian. Great place to eat if you are sick of eating anglicized Indian food. The ambience is soothing and the staff are very courteous. Specially the manager, Mr. Jha is a great person and host. They have a huge collection of drinks and good cocktails as well. The only drawback I found was that they cannot customize the food according to your taste. But it's totally understandable. Overall a great restaurant to visit with family and friends. Though it's a bit expensive but totally worth the price. Highly recommended.

Visited this place for lunch. Good ambience right from the imposing elephant 🐘 at the front, carrying thru into the rest of the restaurant. Service was very warm and welcoming. In fact I was very pleasantly happy as the waiters including the manager make you feel welcome and have no airs unlike some high end restaurants.
Ordered some cocktails as they have a decent selection of unusual cocktails. We tried the Spice Jungle, Jaipur Fizz, White Elephant and Wild Storm. All really good, and would recommend them.

While we waited for the mains, the unique feature of this restaurant came to the fore. They had a collection of traditional Indian articles and jewellery which not only made for a nice display, but you could also buy them. This definitely got our table and some of the other customers excited and engaged. A truly fantastic concept, often popular with Rajasthani themed restaurant villages in India.

Choice of mains was made simple as they have a thali, an assortment of veg dishes - the Maharani thali or and assortment with meat dishes included - the Maharaja thali. Both were excellent. The staff very attentive, asking if we needed any second helpings for any of the dishes in the thali. The Lal Maas was the best, as was the Dal bati. We also ordered a lamb biryani which was very yummy, but made in a Rajasthani style. I would have preferred a different sweet dish in the thali though.

The manager was very courteous and took the time to come to the table to chat with us about the restaurant and it's concept, giving us an honestly refreshing perspective. I truly admire his dedication to his job and customers

Overall a great time, with decent food, good cocktails and superior ambience, concept and service.

I was expecting a lot more of Rajasthani taste from Chokhi Dhani which was bit less in the food. The restaurant has a great ambience, place and the view. I really liked the items in Maharaja Thali but if they could increase the quantity of Bati in the Thali would be great as single Bati is not enough to finish all the food in the plate. I believe the spices were kept less as it is hard for everyone to eat spicy food, but overall I had a great experience with them. Hope to visit them soon and enjoy more Baatis.

We are glad we spotted this place as we were walking by... We ordered biryani, the Maharaja thali it was awesome ...the ambiance,the service, the food,the staff,the interiors is simply awesome and I can go on  ... The staff by name Aliston was very nice, helpful and he was the one who suggested us to try few dishes like prawn balchao, the sweet dish ... also explained us the Rajasthani authentic dishes ... The golden jungle is a must try cocktail ...I bet you won't regret it ... A place you can be with your friends, family. Do visit this  place

This restaurant is very good if you like Gujrati and rajsthani food. Different from the other Indian restaurants where they try to cater Indian food to the British taste and create rubbish in the process.
