Dawat Tooting

This is one of the best Pakistani/Indian restaurants I’ve ever visited. Interior is very chik, stylish and different. First restaurant where I see water fountain ⛲️ in the table. The food is absolutely amazing everything we have ordered was amazing and super tasty. It was also quite quick. Stuff was kind. Restaurant is clean. It is also very reasonably priced. The food selection is excellent.

The decor was lovely clean and comfortable to sit with family and friends. Unfortunately, What was hard not to notice was the Curry Servings and the Flavour/Taste was not as expected to find here Sorry.

Went back to try Dawat after a long absence. They have refurbished and the restaurant looks amazing with amazing decor and water feature built into the table. Halal Pakistan based cuisine, had the usual mixed grill saucy had a mild chilli sauce over it. Tatse nice and couple of curry's Butter Chicken and Dhal Gost (meat). All the meats tasted fresh but it didn't stand out for me. It's a place if you went you wouldn't be disappointed but doesn't scream I need to come back again quick.

I recently dined at Dawat Restaurant in Tooting and had an exceptional experience. The ambiance is warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxed meal. The highlight of our visit was the excellent service from staff members Afroz and Bilal, who were very welcoming and attentive. They provided great recommendations and ensured we had everything we needed. The food was delicious, with a perfect blend of traditional and contemporary flavors. Overall, Dawat is a fantastic dining destination with outstanding service and quality dishes.

Didn't know where to eat.It looked busy when I drove past so we decided to have dinner.
So glad we popped in. Lovely clean, beautiful place and the food was delicious. Very reasonable in price.

Great food and vibe in the restaurant, the food did not take too long which was nice especially as it was really busy on a Friday night. The Beef was amazing and I’d definitely recommend this for anyone looking for a meaty main.

The Oreo cake came out very odd tasting and we sent it back which they happily took off the bill which is always appreciated.

Good portions for the price.

As you may have guessed, we went there for a birthday and had a good time. The starters platter was very filling and everything was absolutely lovely in it. So much so, the mains we had later didn't finish and definitely no room for dessert. The mains were good, all of them tasted different which was plus, but the starters won out. And the one desert we had was quite nice too. So it was a nice day out, all in all.

Lovely place, yummy food and liked that the servers left us alone until we needed something.
Only thing I'd change is more vegetarian options, preferably without eggplant. Just some veggie versions of the noodle dishes would go a long way.
We enjoyed: arracini, pizza, Ferrero rocher cheesecake and the chicken and prawn Singapore noodles. Black cherry cheesecake was a bit sweet for me.

I took a punt here and I'm not too sure about how I feel about it if I'm being totally honest. They do a mixture of foods but it's just confusing because it doesn't really do any one cuisine very well, it's just a mish mash of many different cuisines, of which not many are that good. The lamb chops were the overall standout for me but considering the restaurant is Pan-Asian and Italian, it doesn't really make sense - it feels like they're very confused which is a shame because it has a lot of potential if they refined their menu into one area and just did it well. I also thought the food was very expensive considering it was okay but not amazing. I did leave thinking I had paid far too much which has left a bad taste especially as I wouldn't order any of the dishes again (apart from the lamb chops) if I were to visit again.

Starters were delicious and staff were extremely professional and quick to seat customers and friendly, the portions are big so its very good value for money each dish could be shared between 2 depending on your appetite. It was a very nice experience. It might not be the best place for vegetarians as there isn't a lot of options available but is great for meat lovers

The food took an hour to come out. I never thought grilled chicken and some sweet potato wedges could take so long. They also got our order wrong, and a lemon and herb chicken and a VUSA chicken became two mediums. The soft drinks machine was also falling apart as it literally fell apart into my glass.

Come on!!! Are you guys serious? Do you Focus on customer orders when preparing them or what ?
I called the store after placing £70 order, asking them for some sauces and cutlery, they say YES no problem.
But unfortunately order received without a single sauce or even one fork, we eat the salad and coleslaw with our fingers.

Went with my family for a meal for a break from Christmas Day leftovers! There was a bit of a wait as it was busy, but the staff were really helpful. I opted for the Sunset burger with the Maple & Orange glaze, which was so good! The portion size of the sides is definitely better than previous visits. Mia and Mishal looked after us and they were professional, courteous and friendly, which we really appreciated.

Hello lovely’s 🌹, ive been here many times,  I love Nandos. I have the Hot chicken wrap with spicy rice and coleslaw. quality food. medium and hot chilli sauces is 10/10.  Its halal which is highly important for me. clean environment, staff members are polite and customer service is 10/10. A+++++++++ great vibes❤️💯

The staff were very friendly and attentive. The lady that took our order gave us a free Rooibus drink which went down very well. I had the great imitator wrap. Which really good.  Definitely the vegan version of chicken I have tasted so far. I would definitely have it again.

We have 385 restaurants, 72 of which serve only Halal chicken and are signposted both in the restaurant and online. A small proportion of chicken sold in our other restaurants may also be Halal.

Best GLUTEN-FREE burgers you can find. Love that you can order the burger medium rare or medium pink here, not a lot of burger places offer that. The only downside is that the burgers could be a bit bigger, but this can be improved.

The food very tasty as usual. Friendly, good service. Probably one of the best special on the menu this month...awesome flavours. Good atmosphere.

Great taste and tender  the TRIBUTE burger. Excellent rosemary fries. I would've liked the burger a bit bigger.

Probably my favourite burger joint. They also tick the gluten free box for the other half.

Worst service ever from the manger called phil he looked so scruffy and unkempt I did not want to eat the food after he served it

All of the chicken in our restaurants is halal. If you would like to see our supplier’s halal certificate please ask your server when you arrive. Halal products are stored separately with strict processes in place to stop cross-contamination. Halal chicken items are handled with separate utensils and gloves. Fried halal chicken burgers and wings do not share fryers with any non-halal items. Grilled halal chicken breast burgers are cooked on a reserved area of the grill separated by a grill divider. We do not offer halal beef at any of our restaurants.

If you are in Tooting and want an authentic Pakistani cuisine experience then Spice Village is a very good choice.

The restaurant was busy and appeared to be a popular choice. We had a reservation and on arrival were seated immediately.

A wide ranging menu which should satisfy all customers. The food is extremely well presented and packed with flavour. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of food however portion sizes could be a little larger. Following our order food was served in a reasonable time considering all items were prepared fresh.

The staff are polite and attentive. Our waitress in particular (Aqsa) was lovely - attentive, actively engaged and was happy to make recommendations.  She added to our overall experience and if I was to visit Spice Village again I would want her to manage our table again.

Overall a very experience and would happily visit again when in Tooting Town.

Food was really tasty and full of flavour. Loved the butter chicken with the pilau rice. Would definitely recommend as the service was brilliant too.

Was a long time waiting for the food which was the only down side of the evening.

Beautiful interior. Food was tasted and nice however portion sizes were really small. It has not hit his own car parking however had to find parking on the neighbouring streets and it was a struggle. Will come back if I’m in the area.

Had an amazing time here! Felt very looked after by all the staff. The food was delicious and the drinks were creatively delivered to our table, it kept us looking forward to more. Lots of vegetarian options too. I recommend this place for hang outs but also for birthdays because they really pulled out the stops when they brought out the cake. Good parking in the area also.

Fabulous decor, fantastic drinks / food presentation, along with great flavourful food.

Our eyes was bigger then our belly & we ordered a lot of food.
Starters samosa and onion bhaji wasn’t that great however everything else was amazing we got lamb chops, chicken wings, prawns, chicken curry, rice , 2 types of bread, non alcoholic cocktails and milkshakes.

Staff wasn't 100% helpful I asked for help pushing in my sons seat in,  he didn’t even try & gave up to which I had to do it myself with a bad hand, towards the end of our meal it felt a little rush with staff hovering over us to pack the food up, pay and leave nevertheless we had a great time & would 100% come back.

Everything on our menu is Halal and we are HMC certified.

That restaurant is nice, modern and clean.  The service is pleasant and fast, but be prepared that this is not a classic Chinese restaurant even though the name makes it look like it, but the food is excellent.  The selection is a bit limited, but I don't mind, but if you don't like spicy food, be careful when choosing.  The price is very reasonable, a specially discounted price for the lunch menu, which also includes a drink.

This is a decent outlet (more like noodle canteen in nz) (all halal though).
We had a small box 8£ with coke 1.5£ not bad taste. With a drink this is filling enough. Spicy can be really spicy so be careful. You can mix and match. Avoid prawns as your pay extra for tht and only get like 5 prawns. The base items by themselves are pretty. Good. Total bill for 3 ppl 30£

Can't fault a thing - clean restaurant, DELICIOUS food and really nice service :) my dad and I went for the lethal combination of Kung Po chicken, Malaysian chicken and spicy chips and we really enjoyed it! I also visited twice within the space of 2 days because it was that good lol 😂

Absolute dream of a place. Honestly the large box was big enough for me to eat for lunch and then later as a snack! Delicious, with lots of selections as to how you want your box made :) they also do 10% for NHS staff

Ordered a single British smash burger and it was sooooo delicious, not bland at all so juicy and delicious! Will double up next time, can't wait to go back 🤩 also the spicy white dip (forgot the name) works really well with the chips! 10/10

Alright hear me now, I had the opportunity to try cheat meals on their opening night and I was impressed. Good food and lovely staff.  I got Double British,  Single spicy Mexican, Fries and an Oreo milkshake.

Fries

The fries were very good they were crispy skin on fries that absorb the taste of very well and  they were fluffy on the inside which I can always appreciate. They also give a decent potion of them as well to go with the burgers.
My only problem which I understand why they don’t do but still is if they were pre-salted because I think if they were they would be even better but I guess it depends on preference. 6.8/10

Single spicy Mexican

This was a very good burger, the patty was on a journey to perfect succulence but I’m not sure it made it but it was very nice. There is a lot of sauce so it can hide the flavour of the patty but they aren’t stingy with anything as there were whole slices of onion that were unexpected. I do believe that with this style of burger it would be better with chicken than beef as I think it would accompany it better. 6.6/10

The assembly of the burger was beautiful the brioche bun was shiny the sauce dripping immediately down the patties, just great stuff. It had that classic chicken shop burger sauce that was just pure nostalgia to my taste buds. However, the patties in this one was a bit burnt around the ends which the sauce couldn’t save. Even though I do like brioche buns it’s not good for conversations while eating because if you leave them the same Permeates through the bun and can get a bit soggy. I believe a potato burger bun would be better especially if there’s more sauce as it would absorb it instead of make it somewhat soggy. If you don’t like tomatoes as them to take it out because it’s kinda long to remove them during. 5.7/10

Oreo milkshake

There are two ways restaurants make Oreo milkshakes one is when there are edible bits of Oreo pieces in there and the other when it’s kinda blended with the addition chocolate sauce. Both ways are pretty good but this milkshake was very good it was creamy and it maintained its integrity throughout and the quality didn’t dwindle at the end. I do believe that whipped cream is just decoration and it doesn’t add much especially when the milkshake itself is light and not necessarily thick.6.8/10

There is a wide variety of sauce but my favourite is their spicy Mexican sauce it’s light but has a subtle kick to it with a kinda smoky paprika profile. Goes great with the fries and is a lovely addition to a burger if you go here definitely get the spicy Mexican sauce.

Overall it’s a very nice place to get food especially with the offer I got it’s definitely a cheat meal, leaving you stuffed and satisfied with your life choices. There’s always things to improve on but I personally believe that cheat meals is doing really well especially on how they are expanding and I expect big things from them. 6.7/10

Very good burgers, what really stands out is the french fries, unique and absolutely fantastic. Highly recommended.

This place is below average and overpriced. Customer service isn't great either. Burger patties were dry and bland. Chips are below standard too and well cheesy fries are just awful. Wings were burnt. Not to mention food took 25min to prepare and the manager was vulgar in his language to his staff. Not recommended. I wouldn't be surprised if other branches are better but if you're coming here for the clout then go for it. If you're coming here for quality food then walk past and go up to Honest burgers or Harbaneros both on the same road

Excellent local spot to eat. Good portion size and great prices.

The steak was better than I expected. It was cooked properly and very tasty, the flavour was on point, and the fries were crisp to perfection.

They also had lamb chops which came out sizzling and cooked perfectly! I will definitely come here again.

A small Steakout but you get what you expect here. It was the first time I ordered ribs since they changed the menu and I have to say the ribs were done perfectly. The portion size is smaller now, which is reflected in the price but its considerably easier to eat.
Would definitely recommend for a nice meal out.

Good food and good service. Lost one star because on one if my visits I asked for a medium rare steak but it came well done. I was offered to change it but I didn't want it to be thrown away and wasted. Would have expected a reduction on the bill but didn't. I still would recommend it

It was ok . But used to be better food when I last went 2 years ago. Steak was better then.  Only complaint is that  the mash potato & mushroom sauce in small bowls. Actually those portions aren't enough. But they don't fill the bowl enough either.  Mushroom sauce recipe seems different too. Didn't taste of mushrooms.  Refurbishment, is better and better seating. Lovely staff. 👍

Very helpful staff and tasty food. Saw me struggling with cutting my steak and asked whether if I'd like it done slightly longer. Came back with my steak and it flaked apart perfectly.

This is my absolute favourite restaurant. Menu is extensive and seasonal to a particularly high standard. From the starters to desserts the quality and taste of everything was outstanding. Everything we tasted melted in our mouths. Great food, Great recommendation, Great service, Great people.

After visiting Royal Mahal yesterday I must say the quality of service was excellent. From the moment we entered till the moment we left there was nothing but exemplary customer service provided.

We ordered many starters with the Lamb Chops and Dynamite Chicken being personal favourites.

The main course was thriving with flavours and really sat well with the garlic naan.

Desserts were again top notch, we couldn’t complain at anything.

It was lovely meeting the team and getting what we believe is the best Asian cuisine is London ATM!

Outstanding food and even better since the rebrand. These guys are going from strength to strength. The dynamite prawns and chicken are an excellent addition to the menu! Everything we ordered was perfect and beat expectations. Can't wait to get back and eat in the restaurant!

An absolutely divine eating experience. I’m originally from pakistan and I know how hard it is to find a good Pakistani restaurant in London. Royal Mahal exceeded my expectations in every way. Even in the pandemic they were very efficient when I went there for a take away. The food portions were also extremely generous, not to mention the great taste, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to try some good traditional Pakistani/Indian dishes.

Ordered food cost was £25.Advertised 20% off for takeaway when I asked for 20% discount they refused to give discount and said if you pay cash then we can give you 20% discount and if you want to pay by card you have to pay full amount. Well which card company charge £5 extra for £25 transaction. This is the totally ridiculious also food was cold.

Chi-Ni Restaurant

It was great news when I found out that Tooting would be able to serve one of the best cuisines in the world, which is Indian-Chinese cuisine. I am not a food critic, but I never miss an opportunity to try new places serving Far Eastern dishes.
We ordered two starters and two main courses. Chicken - lollipop turned out to be a bull's eye, delicate, crunchy and dripping with authentic flavour. The salt-pepper fish was fresh and tasted great as well.
As for the main course, we ordered chicken Manchurian and chilli chicken in sauce. I am sorry to say, but both dishes tasted identical, not much different, even in the colour of the sauce. Manchurian lacked garlic, spring onion and a solid dose of soy sauce, which is standard in this dish. The head of Chi Ni should refine the menu a bit better.
I hope, someday, I will visit this place once more, checking other items on the menu, hoping that I will not be disappointed.

At last we have a halal Chinese restaurant in Tooting. This new establishment is clean and the staff are well trained. I was speaking to the owner and found out he has over 20 years of experience and has run restaurants in number of countries. Great job and all the best.

Very warm friendly team who serves & takes care of their customers. My First time trying Malaysian food & boy do I want more, very well prepared & tasty for first time experience. I tried their Chicken Ayam Rendang.

Was very excited about the opening of the restaurant as, it says Malaysian food. Ordered tai pai chicken, mee goreng mix and mee goreng special along with bubur cha cha & kuih bengka ubi. As a malaysian and having tasted mee goreng all my life i would say the mee goreng from Chi Ni is no where similar. It was more like chow mein noodle. Essential ingredients for mee goreng is bean sprouts, tofu and the special sambal they fry it with but, today's mee goreng has got none of this and there was no flavour of mee goreng. On the other hand the tai pai chicken was nice, it was not great but, it is nice to eat. Another dish that was very disapointing was the bubur cha cha. The bubur was so different in colour and lack of true flavour of bubur cha cha. In saying all this i was glad that, at least 1 dish was excellent and that was the bingka ubi. It was worth every penny. I enjoyed it and the taste was same as the one's we get from Malaysia. I would only go back here to buy bingka ubi.

Slider burgers from @meatandshake in tooting. Loads of different beef burger options on the menu. I opted for the 3 Slider burgers. I did find the cheeses very overpowering in one of the burgers, possibly the stanton. Also,  the price is £9.80 that's really expensive considered you don't get any sides and it's tooting, not central London. But the meat in the burgers where great, good flavours. I'd definitely come back again to try the plan Jane classic beef burger.

This is my local butcher and I love it. High quality meats at a fair price. The staff is also incredibly nice. Never had a bad experience here and I’ve been many times.

Lovely place to eat.  Definitely would go again to try more off their menu.  Also keeps kids entertained with colouring books.  Which keeps them occupied and not bored of waiting

The following pertains to Smoked Chicken w/Buffalo Sauce only (as their burgers are amazing):
1/4 chicken w/leg was VERY dry, which couldn't be masked by the homage to buffalo sauce  "sauce". It came with a curiously tiny amount of red cabbage/red onion and one pickle, which left one wondering if it was meant to be there at all, but they ran out or if they re-used a box that had some salad stuck at the bottom.  Best stick to the burgers next time

The staff is very friendly, with such satisfying customer service 🥰! Just such nice vibes. And the food was so delicious!!!!! Definitely would love to visit against. So satisfied

Beautiful place. Staff were very friendly and took order once promptly seated. We all got steaks with a range of different sauces. Steaks tasted fresh and were very tender and juicy inside. The sauce was delicious and was perfect with steaks
