I have come to this place first time, always noticed it being empty, it is now 9 pm Saturday and it’s empty. So I noticed, after eating this so called fake Turkish managed by Bengali’s the food was terrible. I wouldn’t recommend. My front who loves food did not want to continue eating. If you want a Turkish platter go to any Turkish restaurant .They didn’t give the salad with bread as it is custom In other Turkish places. They told me the system doesn’t allow. I’m talking to fresh robots here . Save yourself 50 quid. Waiters are awful. Spoke to manager and he kept blaming the chef. He said that it is in my head which I found offensive and acted like he was professional psychologist blaming the patient. Joking aside if your a tourist or any one come down to London. Hope your read this review if you not and read after you know I was right. Good Luck. God Speed.

It’s certainly much improved since I first came here but overall still meh worthy. Food was overall pretty bland which is normal for Arab/Turkish food when you have an Indian palette but this still was under par.

AWFUL SERVICE WITH FOOD TO MATCH! CONCLUSION: DO NOT VISIT HERE. Plenty better places in this locale to go to. Iftar visit booked with 7 friends on 28.5.22, about 7.45pm. What a mistake. Place was smoke filled, poor ventilation. Looked like smoke grenades. I kid u not. They struggled to find us adequate seating even though we'd booked & the restaurant was still fairly empty. We got a temporary picnic table first & got moved after complaining. Got given menu, then when ready to order got told we couldnt order al la carte, so was forced to order the iftar menu. As we were fasting we had planned to break our fast, go pray at the mosque & return to eat. Instead the food turned up at prayer time so if we left the food would be cold. We also asked for tap water to break our fast several times & were refused. We were told the mngt insisted on selling bottled water only. What a joke, especially for a halal restaurant & muslim customers wanting to break fast. We got a starter of cold bread. Disgraceful. The food was a mess. A plate with awful yellow mush instead of rice. Bits of meat, some of it cold. One friend was vegetarian & there was no alternative so he ended up eating the salad & chickpeas. I complained to the manager afterwards who barely registered my complaint & offered no solution. The bill for this sorry mess was £17 per person. Probably worst service & worst meal i have ever had. Won't be returning here ever. Do yourself a favour & go eat elsewhere. Used to be such a good venue particularly due to proximity to the mosque. What can i say to a place that illegally won't even serve fellow muslims with tap water to break their fast. Utter rubbish. DO NOT VISIT. DONT SAY U WASN'T WARNED ☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️

The food here is halal and its a great place if you are going to pray in the East London Mosque or just visiting Whitechapel. We always order the mix grill. I attached photos of the grilled fish as well as the garlic mushroom. The first time we tried Maedah was back in 2014 and I must say that was the highest point of the restaurant. The food used to taste way better then. In the middle we stopped going because the food and the service wasn't great but now its gone back to being good again hence the 4 stars (I would give it a 3.5 if it was available). I believe the ups and downs are because of the management changes the restaurant went through. The prices have gone up quite a lot but overall its a good place to sit down with family and enjoy some Turkish food.
