Potala is named after Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet. It's easy to confuse it with the Potala Fresh Momo which is a food truck that you will inevitably pass by as you make your way to this restaurant from Broadway. Beyond that, it wasn't easy for me to find it either based on the address because it's actually on 37th Rd, not 74th St. Nevertheless, it's a lot easier to find than Lhasa which is another momo place I've tried less than half a block away. It's also much brighter and open than Lhasa. The owner was friendly as he took my order. The momos are made to order and you can see your momo being wrapped and steamed through the ordering window. For this reason, expect to wait a bit especially if it's busy. But you can expect as fresh a momo as you can get any where in the world. The menu is creatively displayed on the steamers hung on the wall, one item per steamer. There're no prices, but all momos come in set of 8 and are all $6 per order. The plain red chili sauce is the only thing that come with your order. I had thought the butter tea was complimentary but it costs $1. Take it and pay it as gratuity. Worth a try if you've never had salty milk tea before. We had beef and chicken momos. Can't argue with their freshness, but I feel the momos can be made more soupy, the chicken filling was too way dry, and they can provide better sauce. In hindsight Mixed Beef & Veg (chive) momos might have been a better choice. While quite nice, there are so many momo places in Jackson Heights, I am going to try them all before coming back.

Small place, delicious momo's. Authentic Nepalese food. Liked beef momo's best. Frozen momo's can be purchased in 50 qty.
